(I don't wanna be penalized at tax time if I don't buy insurance...)

Even if we were required to, taking the penalty would be cheaper than healthcare since we don't qualify for subsidies assuming you can't afford the standard rates to begin with.

I feel like if we have to pay a penalty in taxes for not enrolling in Obamacare (ACA), we should be able to sue the Goverment. How could we be penalized for not getting something we're not allowed to get in the first place?

It's like if we got a penalty for not applying for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).. even though we're not allowed to to begin with

This is really no different from us paying SSN and Medicare taxes without being able to benefit from them. It may not be in a form of "penalty", but we gain nothing by paying taxes nonetheless.

Yes she does.

For the rest of us, we're not allowed to get it, but still are attacked for not being required to have it. I would gladly pay for insurance.

Late 40's Dreamer (Holy Fucking shit I'm almost 50 and still dealing with this), aged out of original DACA and didn't have a chance to apply for extended DACA after Republicans killed it on the vine.
