Sometimes someone with a similar name to you has security issues and they have to clear to make sure it's not you, etc. They've been pretty good about fast approvals though. We've only had one straight-forward case take more than 6 months and that was an exception to the rule.
I don't think it would take 14 months to approve a case, especially when the person has no record of any kind. Then again, shows to prove how sometimes bureaucracy isn't perfect.

So finally after 14 months and 2 days, I got a text to check the uscis website and it says that I have been approved. I got goosebumps. I was reading the document that JC posted about how they deal with people that do have a record, and it made more sense on how it would take so long specially if they had to make sure you're ok to be approved.

So thanks for everyone's prayers. I'm glad that another person from August is not longer waiting. I hope to see others that have been waiting for a long time being approved.

I'm sure they have to go back and forth from "desk to desk" and every time it gets to a new person it goes to the bottom of the pile. So slightly more complicated cases like mine would take more time.

I can't see how they justify all that time when people have gotten approved 7x times faster.

All I've been thinking is all the things that I can do now get a way better job and use my degree, or start new somewhere else in the country. I have to start with what I have to do though, like: social, license, credit card... anything I'm missing?

I'm pretty sure that every case that's in the 6+ month club is with the BCU DACA team. From the pdf that I read, if the bcu team gets the case from the get go they keep it till its adjudicated. That's why the cases get held up under extended review. Sucks big time!
