I got a letter yesterday afternoon in the mail it's my 4th E-request and it says "Your case is currently under review with an officer. You should receive a decision or notice of action within 90 days of the date of this letter." !! I'm excited for this response gives me hope! It's better then all the others responses and what I like about this letter is that it doesn't say " if you don't receive a decision or notice of action within 90 days of this letter please contact us for my updates" or "put on hold because of background checks" or " case is in additional review" or "case is in extended review have no timeline when this matter will be resolved" or "pending adjudication". I'm excited it's finally with an officer being reviewed!

Thank you! I hope so it sounds like I should receive a decision anytime now!

I can't see how they justify all that time when people have gotten approved 7x times faster.

All I've been thinking is all the things that I can do now get a way better job and use my degree, or start new somewhere else in the country. I have to start with what I have to do though, like: social, license, credit card... anything I'm missing?
I gave up trying to explain why they take so long, things aren't fair. Some people who have criminal records didn't put 'yes' where it said that on the form (because they were 'minor'), and are having an 'easier' time than those who did (ironically, most of those are the ones that get very moralistic here).

So in the end, for them to go above and beyond background checks, doesn't really matter...the question is still the same, why does it take so long??

Alenxander: Hope your case gets resolved before the end of the year!

Ok so as I mentioned before, I had filed a bunch of service requests, even tried my congressman. This past week I contacted my congressman again via email and explained that it had been 6 months since they have contacted USCIS, if they could contact them again.
This time around, I got an answer that didn't include "adjudication or extended review". This is what the reply back to my congressman consisted of:
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) request for (my name) is on hold. The Nebraska Service Center is awaiting guidance from Headquarters as to how to proceed with cases of this type. We will continue processing these types of cases as soon as additional guidance is provided.

You must have something different with your case so there waiting to get a answer back from uscis headquarters with your type of case. they put your case on hold and waiting for headquarters to give them guidance on how to proceed with your case.

I know bit finally an answer. It seems that my case is in the same pile as the people waiting for more than a year. My case is not complicated and I have provided every proof. Never been arrested or in trouble with the law.

They must have found something in your case or they wouldn't have put your case on hold. All you can do is wait.
