CAP works in very disingenuous ways to undermine grassroots immigrant rights efforts. These are well-documented in various books, most recently Professor Alonso Gonzales, who squarely puts CAP and several organizations that one would think are pro-immigrant into an anti-migrant bloc. In particular, the "Out 4 Citizenship" campaign which copy-catted and hijacked the undocuqueer movement is just one of many examples of D.C.-based organizations like CAP undermining the grassroots and pushing for a reform that is extremely hurtful by using talking points such as "11 million dreams." My Huffpost article on Pinkwashing charts some of this homophobia seen as LGBT-friendly. It's fascinating. And it's no secret that most of the fight for reform in D.C. is funded by big money groups from NY. I should know -- I helped to found United We Dream and left due to the corruption, homophobia, and control that beltway groups had on UWD leaders.

My goal isn't to attack anyone but to merely lay out the truth. Immigrant lives aren't changing as long as these groups have control and funding.

Now Esther, probably in good faith, would go to her boss, Angie Kelley, who would then consult with power brokers like Sharry and Noorani, and request Luis Gutierrez to issue a press statement against my writings online. I know how power works in D.C.

Prerna's point is that whomever funds your employer's work, funds your work. Ask your employer. The fact that you wrote about her wedding has absolutely nothing to do with the sourcing of your payroll. I consider myself a very progressive person, and that means that I do not automatically give the Democrats carte blanche to manipulate, perpetually, the fight for legalization as a re-election ploy. Unfortunately, no matter how good intentioned you and your team are, there are more and more individuals and families who are opening their eyes day by day and can now see how the so-called advocacy organizations in DC are really only looking out to position themselves to receive millions of taxpayer funds and get in line for cushy political appointments.
Amen. I'm not attacking Esther, who I understand to be a fellow Dreamer.

I'm simply calling into questions the power-brokers in D.C. who are working for Democrats, not immigrant rights.

Esther, before you was Andrea Nill Sanchez at TP. I remember how she got up to interrupt me at my Netroots Nation panel in 2009 to convince everyone that immigration reform would pass that year and that I should stop pushing for a standalone DREAM Act. 2009. It all seems dumb in hindsight. People are waking up and realizing what is going on and they aren't going to take it anymore.

What about the Outside DA user? Why do you cry and pray if a CIR passes, people should wait 60 years before a legal status?
