Because deep down, Republicans really want what the Tea Party wants, but the Tea Party happens to very extreme...and Republicans seem to want majority power more than logical reasoning, rational thinking, and sanity.

Such a shame...

At this point, we need expanded Deferred Action until CIR is passed.

The House Republicans never had any intention of passing anything; not an enforcement only measure, not a legalization bill and certainly not even their watered down DREAM Act. And this is all because they wanted no part of a conference committee.

There is most certainly no coming back from this for them and I think something must be done and the president is the only one who can salvage this mess.

Yep, it is really shaping up to be one helluva mess.

Didn't think it would be this hopeless at the end of this year, when everything seemed to have been perfectly aligned...fool me once, fool me twice I suppose.

The GOP listen to the tea party more because they are too afraid to be challenged in the primaries by a tea party backed politician. With gerrymandering from the last census, they no longer have to worry about the general election.

If Obama wasn't a fucking spineless worm he'd issue an EO completely stopping all removals and enforcement until Retardicans would get their shit together, or he would at least prevent the house into going into recess until they have something on the table
. But nope, let them dictate how to not get shit done.

That's precisely why the activists are planning to shutdown the White House switchboard like they did with DACA. He won't do anything unless we see them use the same tactics that got us DACA in the first place. This is apparently just the start of a push for expanded deferred action. Guess we're going to see more arrests and more civil disobedience until the President gets off his hands and does something.

DACA was just a tool for Obama to get votes. He would not have even introduced it if it wasn't for rumors of Rubio's plan which was exactly the same idea. Obama will not be passing anything related to immigration because Democrats want to use the issue in the 2016 election. Immigration is a hot topic that is a win/win for Democrats. If it passes, they will take credit and if nothing happens, they will blame republicans. The possibility of CIR is not until after 2016 elections. Republicans need more proof of changing demographics of their constituent base in order to appeal to minorities. Until then, we are just prisoners of the political game.

I figure trying something is better than sitting around waiting on them to maybe take immigration reform up again in 2016 and watch more deportations happen in the mean time.

I'll take the time to call because while I have DACA, many people in my life did not qualify for anything. The number is listed in the Taking Action part of the forum, so if any of you have a mother, sister, brother, father or just a friend who did not qualify for DACA, take the time to make ONE phone call on their behalf.

If Republicans dont pass any major bill, I hope they let DACA join the military. I will be happy.

We've seen it with so many other initiatives (gun control, grand bargain, etc.). Republicans just don't want to work with this President. Of course, they're getting a beating at the polls for it, but in the meantime, we'll just have to weather the storm.
