SSC Application Waiting for "verification" - Page 3

If i get my ead card tomorrow i want to go apply for my social monday...will i have to wait 4 weeks to get my social??

I am definitely going back next Thursday. I am not taking NO for an answer! lol. I've had several job interviews and a LOT of job offers lined up and I CAN'T take any because I haven't gotten my SSC! Which is BS! I am for sure going to make sure I get it in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for your reply

I do not know how long you will have to wait, mostly everyone waits a couple of days before getting their SSC. A 10 day period so they don't have to "verify" your EAD. I think mine was still under the 10 days since it was during the shutdown, nothing was going on so I think thats why mine is getting "verified" if you get your EAD tomorrow, your have three scenarios from what Ive been hearing,

A) Go down to SSA and apply for a SSC and get approved, receive it in the mail within a couple of days.

B) Wait a 10 day period, so your EAD does not need "verification" then go apply for your SSC

OR

C) Go to SSA the day/day after, apply for a SSC and hope it doesn't need "verification". You will get it in a couple of day, IF it does need "verification" you will have to wait UP TO 4 weeks maybe or 5!

This is all the information I gathered from posting this thread and reading others. Hope it helps.

Damn, I wish I would've read this before. We all rush to get things done and this is what happens. I went to SS office 9 days after 'I was approved. Same thing, they told me the EAD needed to be verified with USCIS. they gave me a copy of the letter. That was on 10-30-13. Still waiting...

I went 10/17 and im still waiting! So, don't worry, you are not the only one!

How LONG has anyone waited for their SSN!? I am at 5 weeks TODAY!

This is ridiculous! I am going CRAZY just waiting, FIRST they told me UP TO 4 weeks, so I WAITED 4 weeks.
THEN they tell me give it ANOTHER week! ITS been ANOTHER week, and YET I have received NOTHING!

I am going back TODAY, hoping its been verified AND that my SSN has been assigned, and sent to me!!!!!!!
Has anyone had any trouble with this?

ALSO, can I get a paper copy of my SSN from them just to HAVE my SSN for a job offer that I CAN'T even accept UNTIL I get my SSN?

Any help would be GRRRREAAATT!

I got mine in a week and I went to get it 2 days after I got my ead.... Weird 0_o?

I went in today after 5 WEEKS of waiting and they told me I had to wait another 4 weeks while they verify that my stuff is legit! AGH!!!!

ANOTHER EFFING 4 WEEKS!

I went to the office personally yesterday, and they found that DHS had approved me, but I was "frozen" in the system. No one clicked on my name in order to issue me a number. Basically, if I hadn't gone in person, I never would have gotten my number.

Oh wow... You have to be persistent because they don't really care how it affects you. Another 4 weeks is too long, when I went the girl told me I'd get it in 2 weeks. Where did you go? I'm in California and they were really nice even went to the DMV and got my I.d good for 6 years
