First and foremost; Congratulations! I have been spotting your posts here and there and from what I remember you had a complicated case. I remember you left the country and you are overseas (Bahamas?).
Why did they send you an RFE for and were you able to provide them with the necessary info?
I sent my case in the end of October 2012. I have done over 6 service requests and even contacted my local Congressman. The last message they sent is that they are waiting for approval from the Headquarters (whatever that means).
They never sent me an RFE; nothing. The only update was my change of address.

It is weird I have same wait, applied in Sept 2012. In January I received a message that my address was changed and neither I nor m lawyer had done it. 7 or more requests (my lawyer did one of them and they told her-keep doing the requests the longer we take). This threats are so funny and scary since these guys literally hold our future in their hands.

It is really frustrating especially since my mother is in the hospital overseas and I can't go see her. I have gone above and beyond for this with no luck. I'm usually a positive person and have attempted to do so throughout this entire process but I'm becoming pessimistic as time goes by. I truly don't understand what is taking them so long and what are they waiting for. It has been a year and two months. Definitely not the background check (which mine is clean).
Do you have a complicated case? Anything that might cause a delay or you are on the same boat as I am?

Mine is not complicated. I have had 3 visas since I came here in 2000. My last one expired in 2009 and my dad did not apply for permanent residency, I turned 18 before it came, but USCIS
should have all my info, plus my brother has almost identical application. As in we had all these same visas and he got approved, but guess what he submitted his 3 months after me. I hear you though waiting for this decision has turned me into a person I never thought I would be and very very stressed.

yes i left in 07' for 11 months when i was 15 years old, but it was a trip that was suppose to be casual that went completely wrong, They sent me an RFE in September 2013, a year and one month after i sent my application for continuous residency during those 11 months, and i had nothing , i explained what happened in a 3 page essay got affidavits from people in the Bahamas and aslo affidavits from my mom cousin and best friend, i had pictures and my return ticket that shows my stay was only meant for 2 weeks not 11 months and forms from immigration showing i did everything possible to get back the legal way, after sending a boat load of evidence 3 months after my RFE they approved me, i Honestly didn't think i would get approved but i just stayed positive and i sent and explained everything possible.

theres no reason to delay ur case. and i know that frustrations ur dealing with. its unbearable. did u have previous case? an RFE? if not then idk why theyre taking this long
mines took about a year and 2 month. u need to give USCIS a call. talk to a 2nd level officer see if anyone is reviewing ur case
