Anyone know if we qualify for the Pell grant?

How do you pay for school? loans? Which one?
Are there any loans that do not require a co signer?
I have no one that is a U.S citizen that can co sign for me

With the recent news that Sallie Mae know longer accepts us I have no idea how I will ever get back into school.
I'm a student at UH but now again I will bet taking another semester off because I can not afford school.

Anyone here go to UH main and now how to go about getting aid?

I have heard about the TAFSA but I'm pretty sure I have missed the deadline for this upcoming semester.
I'm confused on when to apply for this, you apply a year in advance?

I'm currently working full time in retail paying bills and school seems impossible right now.

The TAFSA application period will begin on January 1st for the 2014-2015 academic year. But you still have options for this academic year. You could get access to a State-sponsored Loan with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

I would talk with the Financial Aid office of your College. They are better suited to answer questions about the TAFSA and any other options. Contact them.

And here's the link for TAFSA.

Have you thought about transferring to UHD? Both schools are connected to each other but UHD is far cheaper and has a flexible schedule. I just graduated from UHD last December and I actually paid off my tuition out of pocket. Just a thought.

I pay for my school tuition through outside scholarships I've applied for. Go to UH and ask them for a list of local scholarships.
