Hello. I will be flying to NY soon and I have a question.

My name is (example)

First Name: John Paul (I have two first names and it appears like this on my DL and passport)
Last Name: Smith

But on my plane ticket it just says: John Smith with no "Paul"

I have traveled by plane many times in the US but my name was always "John Paul Smith" on the plane ticket. This is the first time where only one of my first names is included on the Plane ticket.

Will I be ok? I will be using my DL. Thanks

Yes it's fine, middle name can be shortened to an initial or omitted.

What if your DL has your two last names and you only put your first last name in the plane ticket?

Example:

My name is (example)

First Name: John Paul
Last Name: Smith Parker (I have two last names and it appears like this on my DL and passport)

But on my plane ticket it just says: John Paul Smith with no "Parker"

Hi, basically your plane ticket name should exactly match that of your document. Don't make this complicated just exactly as you see it on you ID, enter that into the plane ticket.

It is only logical that the plane ticket should match the name on your ID to avoid confusion and possible delays. It is easier that way and especially last names. Ignoring 2nd first names would be the same as ignoring middle names and less of a problem.
