I feel like you sometimes but I always try the to find the best out of the situation. For example, this month Christmas is coming up and I dont have money like I did last year to buy my siblings christmas gifts but I tell them we are blessed enough already we are all healthy and we have each other and thats the best gift anyone could ask for.

Honestly...theres so much I'd like to share with OP at this moment but here's just a few words to convey how I feel. The fact of the matter is and I am slowly realizing this myself..illegal..legal..work permit..green card..citizen..it does not matter what you have..the struggle will continue although I do agree being undocumented is a little more problems. You are still in school. If you relatively have all your basic needs, just continue staying the course and be immersed in your studies. When I was in college, I found solace in the library and there were often times when I was completely down and out due to being undocumented and seeing my friends going to career fairs. At least you have a work permit while you're a student. See if you can get some type of internshp/co-op to set up your future. And about your parents, I definitely feel you man. I'm sure most people on here have similar situations. For the long term, I strongly think your family should consider moving to a different state..one that is more liberal. It is worth thinking about...for now that is all I can offer..but good luck and enjoy your college life!

I'm very grateful I have my work permit and all but life is still sort of difficult.
I'm in Arizona so I can't get a drivers license and I will be charged out of state tuition in the public universities. No one wants to hire a 20 year old with no job experience. I work at lowes so I can't complain but it's awkward when your at an interview and you say you have only had one job.
I'm starting community collage next semester now that I have some money so that's pretty awesome.
We're going to have elections next year for governor but I doubt a democrat will win. It's not only elderly Mormon republicans that hate us. I know plenty of young people that are strongly against immigration reform and amnesty,
I'm tired of seeing how my dad and mom work in meager jobs just to make ends meet.
Seeing my fathers damaged hands from working with tires at his job.
I have no social life since most of my friends are at asu and actually live there. I spend all my free time at home and watch anime.
I'm just tired of all of it. I cry sometimes just because of how hard life is for us. Not knowing what's going to happen in the next few years. I see my friends are going to start their junior year of collage and I'm just the kid who got left behind, it's freaking depressing. It's just difficult.
It's hard seeing others in the same situation as me .
I can't sleep at night just thinking about tommorow.
Sorry for the rant but I'm just tired and sick of all of this,. I just want to scream!
The good thing is that you know we've all felt or feel the same way, and that you are not the only one in the situation you are in.

First, being 20 without any job experience is normal, that has nothing to do with status that much. You work at Lowe's which means there is way to climb your way to the top, so just do your best at work, give a 100% (you can't give more, giving 110% is a lie ) and make sure you are the best you can give (I know it sounds cliched, but trust me, that's the way to go, don't be one of those people who hate their jobs and don't care).

About the no DL or in-state tuition...well, you have the option of moving. I know that you're young and that it'll be a challenge, but just think how you're still going to be dealing with this stuff in Arizona, so why not do it in a new place that's a bit more immigrant friendly?

This also brings me to your other point, your parents...well, at one point in your life you must realize that you can only do so much for them before they slow you down. Yes, it sounds horrible and makes me 'look' horrible as a person too, but it is true. We've all made choices and they (like most of our parents) made the choice to come into this country illegally and for a better life, and hard work and low pay it's what illegals go through, we all know that, there is nothing you can do...BUT...you already are legal (well, whatever DACA grants) and are able to work in almost any job without any problem. It is your time to move on and really start your life. Why am I telling you this? Because I'm almost thirty and could have done with words like these, you might not truly understand them now, but in the near future you will.

Either way...just cheer up. Go out, go for a walk, ride your bike, workout (you don't need a gym for this), and keep on going, life goes on, moves on, you should do it too. Remember some of us are still waiting for that chance to arrive.

Try to get another job or go out and do something. Watching t.v is not bad but don't make it the thing you do all the time, make it the thing you do when you have nothing else to do.

Yea, it is so weird.

I love video games, movies so much...but I just automatically have this pointless empty feeling after playing/watching them for a long while.
