So I tried looking up threads that related to this, but didn't really get a clear answer. My friends here say undocumented people have been on cruises with them, and that they've been fine, but I'm naturally reluctant and scared to go. It's a cruise to the Bahamas, and only one day (I know the amount of time doesn't matter, but, just saying).

My friends don't have passports (they are American), and they say all I'll need is a state ID and they looked into it, and no passports will be checked.

Please don't answer negatively or go off topic. I need a serious, clear response (meaning a reason behind the no or the yes).

Bahamas is another country. You are leaving US soil. What do you think?

Hello Nax , I am leaving for the Bahamas tomorrow, I recently had an AOS but before I had my GC in hand I couldn't do an early booking, because when I started to do the process, the cruise line will ask for your country of birthright citizenship, when I entered mine it then went on to ask me if I was a permanent resident when I clicked yes it then asked for my alien registration number and my address I would be returning to upon entering the USA. The cruise line needs to submit a manifest to DHS before it can set sail. Now those american friends of yours will now need a US passport or a US passport card to RE-ENTER THE USA .no longer are the days where all you needed was just an ID and birth certificate to enter. EVEN if it is a closed loop cruise because you are leaving the USA.. I wouldn't trust my american friends who advises me to leave the USA and expects me to re enter with no status..check out this web site www.cbp.gov and go to the travel section or www.nassau.usembassy.gov/entry_exit_baha but to answer your question NO you can not go on a closed loop cruise that leaves the USA
