Say you wanted to elope with a USC in Vegas. You came in with inspection, you've got DACA approval. Would the process be the same for us or do we need some special documents or what?

It would be the same process; there should be no difference in applying for a green card...I'm not sure about the Vegas part though. I mean if it's truly a legal marriage then go ahead.

If you came here with inspection then you should be golden, but I'd still get a lawyer to do the paperwork since this is your life here and you have vegas money.

Make sure and document the wedding - pictures, receipts, wedding announcements, facebook status, etc. Immigration people aren't dummies so if this even smells of a setup, they will make your life a living hell with interviews, inspections, even asking your friends.

I think they already think of all marriages as a setup for immigration purposes. However, they do go a lot further than this now.I have heard some who mentioned agents had visited the neighborhood and asking their neighbors questions about the applicant.

As long as you get legally married, regardless of where, you can use such marriage for adjustment of status purposes.

Well, again, they're not stupid. Certain things trigger red flags- big age difference, and I'm sure a lot of different things that if I had to speculate, now days with social media, it'd be really weird if all of a sudden someone got married without the usual lovey dovy facebook posts, engagement pictures, and having the people you always hang out with there.

but yes, they check everything. Talk to the neighbors, landlord, and can show up anytime they want to see if you're together. And that's a good thing because so many assholes who just got here for a week with their daddy's money marry strippers that a broker set up for them and get their green cards and call us illegals.
