I know becoming a doctor for a normal U.S citizen is hard, but for us, it probably even seems impossible even though it really isn't. The possibility is there, but the probability is low.
I am a freshman at my Community College, I've met with my transfer counselors to set up my educational plan. They basically told me to make up my mind whether I wanted to transfer as a pre-med or nursing student. And as a Dreamer, who has been waiting for the approval of USCIS for my DACA for about 10 months, it is very hard to either take a risk and go pre-med or stick with a hard but-yet- more-probable nursing major.
I know Loyola University is the only Medical school that is accepting eligible DACA competitors.

I just wanted to know how many of you guys are taking the risk of pre-med or any other profession that is rigorous already but made a bit more challenging because of our status ?

You might be able to apply to physical therapy, pharmaceutical , dentistry school if you don't make it. Also physician assistant. Plan your classes smart so you don't need to take other classes, or minimal after finishing your major. Obviously nursing is a great job to have. Money won't be a problem. Just make sure you're content with what you do.

You will need a lot of money and no scholarship is going to cover it.

^ This is what is preventing me from pursuing school past a Bachelors Degree, the shit ton amount of money it takes.

I would love to try out Physician Assistant, Dentistry, Biology etc. but the necessary step to go beyond Bachelor into Graduate school requires so much money, a loan would be a requirement...and I don't know if living with a 100k+ loan debt for the remainder of my life is worth it...

...and what if I can't even get hired even after getting my Masters, holy shit...

Right now I am thinking Accounting (Yes I know this is actually 150 credits + a test, but it seems doable), Finance, Engineering or other similar Bachelor type degrees without the necessity to go into Graduate School.

you should look into a GIS program. Here in Oregon a GIS certificate can well earn you 40k

I know this girl whose goal is to become a doctor. She's a DACA recipient, and recently got married... I think the guy is a USC.

I seriously don't know how she's gonna do it... She doesn't have money. But it seems like nothing will stop her. I'm really proud of her.

Go For it!! I am actually in the process of studying for the MCAT and hopefully applying this cycle. Is tough like everybody says in here, but there are a few dreamers out there who are currently in Med school or recently got accepted this past cycle!! The hardest part is financial aid, it would be mostly loans, like Loyola offers loans if you agree to work in an underserved area in Chicago. Little by little more schools are becoming aware of our existence so don't give up!

the thing with med school is paying it off and if you don't have the financial support, it will be next to impossible here in the USA.
