Any DACA students at FIU?

Hi,

I'm a Daca student at FIU in Miami, and I wanted to know of other Daca students, and maybe meet some of you and share our experiences. It's hard to speak to other friends who have no idea what it feels like, and I would love to finally meet someone who understands. This is something that has affected our entire lives, something that made us feel completely hopeless. If anyone at FIU is interested in talking, I would feel less isolated.

I plan to transfer but I dont qualify for the Florida Dream Act...

I'm not sure if this will help, but I went to FAU and was able to get in-state tuition. However, I do recall doing research on in-state tuition at FIU and finding a document that said they would award in-state tuition to DACA recipients as long as they had been approved for at least a year.

I've been going to FIU for two years and they told me that even if your DACA ends you can still continue paying in state tuition only for bachelors though.

You are correct. The good thing about getting in state tuition in place is that once they approve it, they don't reverse it
