I went to school until the 11th grade. I dropped out due to very personal reasons.
I sent my application for DACA on October and did my biometrics November 19th of 2012. I had all the requirements, except the high school diploma because I later found out it wasn't accredited by the state (Home school program). Either way, My attorney recommended me to start attending GED classes just in case, so I did start attending GED classes and I sent that with my application for DACA along with my school transcripts from 5th-11th grade and the non accredited HS diploma. I finally graduated from this legitimate GED program on October of 2013.

I was wondering if I should call them about it or just keep waiting? I just wonder if I should send them the legit GED diploma because I think that the other non accredited one is holding up the process. I haven't gotten any RFE's, I have done e-request, all have been responded with the same damn automated message. Please any suggestions would be great guys.

Thanks for this great forum!
Hi, bro I have exact same situation. I send uscis online diploma back in sept. 06 2012 which is not acceptable by my college here in my town. so the college told me to a GED which I complete aug. 2013. I'm still waiting and I got local senator to help I told him about GED so I'll what response I get form them. I contact my senator last month no response yet. Which online school did you use?

It's all about the background checks. Maybe his name popped up in a database and now they're going all the way to check his records.

My problem is still the same, those requests/background checks do NOT take ten months to be generated, so why the wait? Is it punishment for 'having' a criminal record??

I agree with you 100% man. The waiting time frames for people like us are just ridiculous and stupid. I would understand the long wait if we were back in the stone age where technology and computers didn't exist.

Thanks for the informative video. I've never had any sort of contact with the police. I know that isn't my problem. The only thing that could be holding up my case is the fact I took online classes. Its still way to long of a wait. Instead of approving those who are barely applying they should try getting people who've been waiting over 1 year approved first.

Of course since they are applying discretion on a case by case basis many factors to consider in each of our DACA applications.

Hey - I got the same letter/e-mail on April 18, 2013 and February 18, 2014 after submitting ombudsman requests (my application was received by USCIS 8/31/12 and I did my biometrics 9/27/12). I thought last April it meant something would be done soon but here I am 10 months later - a total of almost 18 months - still waiting. Like some other people in this thread I also did an online high school equivalency and feel that is the reason my application has been delayed. Has anyone seen the checklist someone posted earlier? It says any documentation of home schooling (which I guess online programs are considered) has to get referred to "CFDO" which I looked up and found it was the department for fraud. At this point I really just want to take the GED but the state I live in is in the middle of switching from the GED to the HiSET and I can't even register for a testing date. I am trying to enroll in Adult Literacy or ESL classes and hope that if I send it proof of that to USCIS it will move my application along quicker but at this point I don't even know.......
