Hi guys,

This is actually my first time visiting this website, as well as posting a thread.

So basically, I am a DACA recipient college student. When I first applied to my school, I was actually a legal resident through my parents' visa status. But our visa renewal got rejected soon after I got accepted, so that made me an undocumented student. But I did not tell my school about that situation, and last Summer, I was lucky enough to receive the DACA status, and I did not tell the school about this situation either.

(Sorry about the long intro, but here come my questions now.)

So I am close to graduating now, and I am trying to apply for an internship.

First of all, are DACA students allowed to do an internship with no problem? I already tried submitting some applications and I just checked on the applications that I am legally authorized to work in the U.S., but I wasn't really sure...

Also, do you guys think it is okay to contact my school about my status change? Because my school has its own job searching website, and I am currently restricted on this website due to my status being an international student at school... and it would be really helpful if I can get a full-access on this website...

Any comment would be helpful!

yes you are certainly qualify for internship no worries there.

what state are you in? if you are in a state that give in-state tuition to undocumented then you can easily change your status with the school, it shouldnt be a problem. example like in NY, to qualify for in-state tuition one must declare he/she is undocumented and that he/she will adjust the status when there is one available.

hope this helps.

O Great Thank you

And I am currently in Maryland. MD is pretty generous to us immigrants, but I am not really sure if the colleges work the same too.
