After 15 months of waiting, I'm finally approved and from nevada! Just wondering if anyone knew, I've already been issued a social when I was younger but the title on top of my ss card says "not valid for employment." Do you think I can use/show that for applying for a permit? Bc I don't know what happens when I'll apply for a social. I don't think I'll change my number. They'll just take out the "not valid" part right?

I would imagine the ss office would have to validate it for the DMV and you have to show the ss card... I do not think you can get a permit that way. You will keep the same number with a different stamp. Maybe youcan go directly after the ss office has your new info on file, same day? And congrats

Anybody know the route of the drivers test for yhe decatur dmv? My test is this friday. Any tips??

I was wondering if anyone of you who live in Nevada can give me some guidance on obtaining a Driver Authorization Card (DAC)?

You need a matricula consular or passport from the mexican consulate. And two papers that proof you are a resident of Nevada.

My mother plans to take the matricula and her birth certificate translated by an approved DMV translator since getting the passport is a pain the ass from the consulate.

For more information visit the official Nevada DMV site. You will need to download and study the book for the written test. When you feel comfident you can pass that test take your documents to the DMV. Once you pass that test which costs $25 & $10 retry if you fail ... You will get a permit to practice with a tutor for the road test. Then schedule your appointment for the road test as soon as you feel comfident you can pass it. Good luck.

Actually you may not be Mexican so let us know if your country of birth does not grant I.D. cards or check the DMV site for more info.

did you take it already? i took mines in october. pretty much an easy route. you go north of the dmv, a couple of school zones, and the instructors are critical of your turns, and how you turn, lane changing, oh yeah and the parallel parking @ the end. lol
