Why is my u visa taking so long is been over a year

U visa cases generally do take long because the VAWA group that deals with such cases are very thorough.There really is nothing that can be done until they either get back to the individual with an approval or RFE.

U visas usually take one to two years. Remember that there is a 10 thousand u visa cap per year. Usually the Vermont Center is receiving more than 25 thousand applications per year.

As mentioned before since the 10k visas issued every year run out so quickly the process can take up to two years.
