I think you're supposed to have at least one day off every week. When you're building muscle through progressive training (heavy lifting), they all say you should do a day on and a day off.

Everybody has six packs, most people simply have too much fat hiding those muscles. As long as you eat right, you'll eventually show six packs. If you don't eat right, nothing you do will get you there. What constitutes 'eating right' for body building is a book on its own.

Yeah. I do listen to my body and take days off here and there. Also, I don't workout the same muscle groups back to back, I have my workout routine planned properly. Plus, I have also been eating extremely healthy and not just doing weight lifting, because as you mentioned, everyone has a six packs and it'll be pointless to just get my abs hard as a rock but have it covered by that annoying layer of fat. So for that reason, I do incorporate cardio work as well. Trust me, I've done all the research I'm aware of everything you just said and I've definitely been seeing progress with my body and muscle definition =] It's a lot harder for a woman considering we don't have that testosterone to help us out, but hey! I'm sticking to it, it just takes hard work and dedication. =]

If you have done the homework, then it's just a matter of grinding it every week.

Last year I lost 18 lbs and ran my first 5K. That wasn't impressive, but that was good enough for me because I was completely sedentary in the past decade or so. I got busy with family and relatives and such, so I dropped it. Now I'm starting it again.

That's still awesome =] I lost over 35lbs and now I'm gaining weight back in muscle mass never thought I'd be happy seeing the number on my scale going up haha (I've been keeping track of my progress with weekly pictures and it's awesome to see the difference!! ). I will actually be running my first 5k in 2 months, so I'm currently in prep. mode for that! =P We'll see how it goes...

Regardless, I've found a passion for fitness and it's my lifestyle now. It's definitely the best anti-depressant out there and so worth it!

For a girl to lose 35 lbs is really great, because it's generally harder for women to lose weight. I know ladies who would kill to lose that much, but unfortunately don't have enough motivation to do the hard work.

Keep it up. When you finish the 5K you will feel really great. I did.

You can never do all the research. Girls have testosterone.
