Good luck Jose! share the good news when you receive it! I'm applying for my ssn tomorrow. BTW, I've been working with a "seguro chueco" if you know what means. Anyone know if I should mention that at all when I apply? My first guess is no, but i couldn't find anything about that anywhere. Any help is appreciated.

You don't need to mention it cause I don't think they'll even ask you about it. What you should do though (if you did your taxes with an ITIN), is once you get your social security card go back and tell them you want your ITIN history moved to your new SSN.

Thanks for your input. I have been filing taxes with an ITIN, and was aware of that. Just wasn't sure about the social that I've been using. I know it's not legit, do you personally have past experience with that?

My wife did. She used a fake SSN for 6 years. Usually that's info that goes to USCIS and they're pretty lenient about it since they know most people without legal status work with a fake SSN. The SSA office doesn't ask for any of that stuff though since they really only use USCIS to verify your identity. In the application for an SSN they just ask you for personal info such as name, DOB, legal status and stuff like that.

I am not familiar with GED, but wouldn't letting a person take it at home be it on paper or online in their house open the door for cheating? Unless you are talking about preparation for final test?

I think its base on luck now. Like a Russian roulette thing, I provide so much evidence from when I came here, with letter sign and notorieties from neighbors, military vets. Friends that work in the police force both captain and regular cops. And I still haven't been approve
