Exactly.

I look at my retail position as something that will help me improve my people skills, which are essential as a doctor.

I'm working at two places (Retail and FedEx) and juggling my schedule has been hell, but this time last year I was at home hoping for this opportunity. My co-workers are some bitter, angry people and don't understand why I'm not there hating every minute of my job. I have bills to pay and if I ever want to go back to school, I have to get in there and make the best of both opportunities.

I'm a customer service manager for an e-commerce company. I was recently approved for DACA. I'm just happy that I can go back to school now and drive without the fear of being pulled over. I drive 40 miles daily to and from work. Good luck to everyone still looking. As I like to say; It's not what you know for the most part, It's who you know. Go out, meet people, you will find a good job sooner or later.

I worked at fedex (for a week) but did not like it because of the way they work. They were contractors so i wasn't really working for fedex more for the people who bought routes from fedex. Anyways as soon as i found out why the guy i was replacing was leaving i quit. He was leaving because there was no room to move up once you get 2, 3 or 4 routes thats it you cant go higher other than buying your own trucks and getting your own routes.

So fast forward 6 months and ive been working as a Tech support for Seagate Technologies and all i gotta say is i love it.

Seagate Hard Drives!!! Sweet!!!

So what do you do? Do you answer phone calls and provide tech support for people telling them that the computer has to be on to access the hard drive? lol

Whats the pay like?

What was required of you to get hired? College degree? Experience?

I'm a senior UI Developer at a growing startup. Found all my jobs since receiving DACA online. Mainly through LinkedIn

Yea basically answer phones. But its not as simple as that, you'll be surprised the kind of people that call. Everything from your typical old grandmother who does not know where to connect the cable, don't know how to use the software or don't know how to drag and drop to "High End" companies that use our Business products like NAS servers, enterprise HDs so you get to deal with having to troubleshoot Networks, Linux systems.

Pay starts at 15.50 for bilingual speakers and once you become permanent get a dollar raise and once permanent your options are endless you can move up or around the other departments like IT, Direct customer support (dell, HP, Sony, Apple...) Data Recovery departments (if you look around in the Internet Seagate has some of the most high end data recovery centers).

School? well High School graduate, A+ certification and some Cisco certifications nothing fancy but i think they definitely helped. I had no previous experience "on paper" working with computers but ive been dealing with computer since i was a kid mainly because i could not get a job in the IT field until DACA.

I hate it for the same reasons you did. I work in a sort facility and, honestly, I prefer working retail.

I'm crossing my fingers for a positive outcome on instate tuition for DREAMers. At least with my degree finished I can either go to grad school or apply to go to medical school.
