I'm an undergrad CS major and Math minor. I work in a web development team for a major company.

Has anyone ever been denied a position because they are not a US citizen or permanent resident? I got denied an internship in a Big Data department at a major telecommunications company because they don't hire non citizens or non permanent residents.

Yes, I am currently a Technical Support Analyst. I had applied for another position and was denied. One requirement was that the candidate be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder. This was actually one of the largest telecommunication company and one I was excited about.

I'm actually involved in tech now and currently going to a programming school to eventually land a job at a startup company upon graduation.

Work at a video game publisher and now developer too. Started in CS then moved into project management now back to CS as a manager. Learned so much and got my foot into the "industry" in Silicon Valley. With 4 years of experience, I can apply at larger companies and have leverage to negotiate.

The US is really the land of opportunities.

Im graduating with an AA in Networking and continuing on to get my bachelors in CIS. I currently also work as an intern in a CA agency in their Info Systems Branch. I have many skills related to technical support, and I am CompTIA A+ certified now too.

I have a Masters degree in Education just because I needed to do something with myself while being out of status. I'm an entrepreneur, I own several businesses including a franchise and I am currently involved with 3D printing. I am in the process of opening a very unique 3D printing store.

Software Engineer here, work in developing and maintaining applications. My application gets used by big companies like Apple, Amazon, Dell, Coca & Cola, Target, etc.
