hi...I am new memeber here. This forum is very informative....i have been reading the posts about U visa on this forum as I myself have applied for U visa. I applied in sept 2012 for U visa and i received a RFE few days back. They want more evidence on substantial mental abuse. What kind of evidence can I provide because mental abuse is hard to prove. I am terribly depressed, but I do not know how to prove that. Any suggestions/tips on how to prove the mental abuse?

If the only thing they sent in the RFE was concerning the I-192 I think it is very possible they are likely to approve the case.Even though U visa numbers don't affect case decisions,it makes me wonder if they slow the process concerning approvals until 10,000 visa numbers are available?

The one thing I know for sure is that they to hasten applications with I-192's after overhearing one of the VAWA unit calls.

That is not generally easy to prove at all.You would have to directly relate that to the crime you were a victim of and such a thing takes months if not up to year to document in some cases.

Thought the wait time was 13.3Months? lol At least according to their website. Your timeline is 12Months... Any idea why?

Also, I believe that my mother just showed evidence that she had months of therapy.

I was surprised to see RFE in the 12 th month because USCIS shows processing time to be more than 13 months. I dont know the reason why I got RFE earlier.
Did your mother also get RFE to prove substantial mental abuse? Did she get approved? In my case I could not get any therapy because I could not afford it. Do you know any places where free counselling/or therapy services available at a cheaper rate....because I really cannot afford the expenses of therapy. I live in new jersey.

I got a letter from Vermont center that my U visa petition is placed under deferred action until December 31st 2014 and it states that my application is in waiting list . It also states me to apply for temporary employment authorization if I have any economic necessity. Can you please tell me how long it will take to receive this? I

Most likely about 4 months. You will need to include the I765 ws. And you were placed on deferred action because theres no visa's available at this time.
