Hey guys,

I'm currently waiting for my Daca approval. I just received a voter notification card and apparently I registered to vote on Feb. I remember signing some papers for a petition at school but I should have read more carefully. I know I am so stuppiddd!!!. What should I do? am I at risk for denial? Can I cancel this? (even though 2 months have passed) and if I can does anyone know what they ask for in order to get this cancelled? Please help, I'm beyond worried.

Is there a phone number you can call to take your name off the list?

It will not disqualify you for DACA but it could hurt you in the long run (could be taken as false claim to citizenship) i suggest you try to get your name off the list ASAP.

Well then i dont know what to tell you. You either show that you are trying to fix it or just leave it like that and hope no consequences come of it.

They will not actually call immigration and report you, the way immigration will find out is if you ever apply for permanent resident/citizenship they look into things like that.

You have to do everything in your power to GET RID OF THIS! You shouldn't be afraid of Immigration I mean you applied for DACA. Any ICE encounters would lead to deferred action not deportation.

BUT LEAVING IT ALONE AND HAVING REGISTERED TO VOTE WILL BAR YOU FROM ANY GREEN CARD OR CITIZENSHIP. TAKE YOUR NAME OFF THAT LIST NOW!!

I would be more cautious and hire a lawyer concerning the potential consequence to take care of it if you don't feel you can do it yourself.

I'm in the same exact boat as you. Happened at school too, only difference is that I've already been approved for DACA. I'm actually quite surprised they were able to read my writing since I wrote down everything all sloppy since I was in a hurry that day.

I've dug myself a hole, that's what I get for doing everything fast and not reading things thoroughly lol. I'm doing some research on seeing how we can get this fixed, might have to consult a lawyer for this one. I'll post any findings I come across.

Try not to stress to much about it, I'm sure they'll be able to understand our foolish mistake and not give us a hard time about it, or at least I hope lol.

If you get a Jury Summons and you tell them you're not a citizen, you'll be screwed. I know one of those Republicans was insisting they'd be checked so immigrants don't vote.
