My friends and I developed a web site that allows people promote their political opinions by paying others to listen to their stories. As an immigrant myself, I really want to use the site to get more people listen to our opinions on immigration reform and perhaps become convinced and support us. So, before we launch the site to the wild public, I'd like to open it up to people here.

Here's how it works:

1. Click this link http://beta.views180.com/referral/626575d0 and sign up as a new user. You'll get 50 extra points from me (worth about $0.5) in addition to the 100 points from the site (worth about $1, which every new user gets).

2. Make sure to subscribe these Immigration issues as "Agree": "Children brought to the U.S. illegally should be granted citizenship" and "Illegal immigrants currently in the U.S. should be granted amnesty".

Now is the important part:
3. You have about 150 points (worth $1.50) you can pay people to read articles/stories of your choosing. Naturally, the more you pay for each read, the more likely people read your stuff. You can pay 50 points/read, but you can only afford 3 people to read it. Or, you can pay 10 points/read, but then you can afford 15 people. Of course, you can always read articles on the site to earn more points, and then use the points to get more people listen to your opinions.

4. Feel free to use the "Share Content" link and add more articles/stories about immigration reform on the site. Please only add those articles that might convince people to support us.

Please let me know what you think about the site and/or whether you think it's a good way to promote our opinions on immigration reform.

Thanks.
Daniel

how do you know people will actually "read" the article?
What's stopping a person from just clicking on "read" and just letting the computer sit there?

edit* I asked this assuming you guys will actually have a payout for those who just log on to read.

We do our best to prevent spam by tracking people's reading time and other behavioral patterns. We can't prevent every spam though.
