November 2013 - Traveled out of the country with advance parole
January 2014 - I-130 got approved
February 2014 - Sent Adjustment of Status application, form I-485
April 2014 - Will have biometrics

How long did it take to get an interview appointment after she did the biometrics?
You should be getting it soon after. My wife had her biometrics in the middle of January and we had our interview in the 3rd week of February. My guess is you'll get an appointment notification 2 weeks after biometrics and your interview should be about 3-4 weeks after you get that notification.

Like many of you guys she went through the DACA process a year ago and just last week she received her green card. Her case was rare because she was a DACA student who married a U.S. Citizen. The lawyers at our attorney's office even called her the guinea pig because she was the first such case in their buffet. Here's a timeline of her past year:

February 2013: Approved for DACA
April 2013: Got married (after 7 years together)
July 2013: Submitted request for Advanced Parole
September 2013: Approved for Advanced Parole
September 2013: Left to Mexico for 4 days to see sick mother. Legally re-entered the U.S. with Advanced Parole
December 2013: Submitted paperwork to become U.S. Resident through marriage
February 2014: Interviewed at local immigration office
March 2014: Received green card

If any of you have questions about anything and I might be able to help, feel free to ask. But my one advice for everyone will be that before you make any decision consult a trustworthy lawyer. Sure they can be expensive, but going into this whole process both my wife and I were clueless about immigration laws, so we have them to thank for my wife's achievements.
Thanks for sharing your story/timeline! We are going to file residency paperwork with the help of a lawyer. So how long after the interview in Feb. did you guys know if she was approved for a GC? Do they tell you at your interview if you've been approved or not?

I have a quick question for you all that have done this. Was the person adjusting EWI?
I am currently going to attempt fixing my status in this manner.

I currently have Advance Parole approved as long as I use it between May 14- October 24. I got an approval because my employer is sending me to 2 IT conferences in Canada. I currently have a pending VISA application with Canada, so I might not be able to go in May. Might have to go in October.
little background on myself been here 27 years, clean sheet, except I am EWI. Have been finger printed 2x since DACA, both for employer requirements. Both background checks have cleared.I have been married for nearly 9 years to a USC, I have a USC daughter.

Anyhow I am extremely nervous about leaving for the purpose of clearing EWI because of the 3/10 year ban. I know about the Arabelly decision, but I can't help but feel uneasy. I have a pretty good job, and my wife is unemployed, If i am not allowed back in my family would lose its financial support.
I an 90% sure if the Canadians approve my VISA by May 15, I am going to risk it.
Has anyone heard of anyone not being allowed back in with Advanced Parole?
Do they flat out just deny you entry? Or can you enter and be release and then go to an Immigration Judge?
I have not used a lawyer for any papers. My Wife was in Law School when DACA was announced and did all my paper work for me.(600 page application ..)

If anyone has any feedback I appreciate it.
If anyone needs to know what I sent for AP let me know, I am glad to share.

Thank you

I have heard of a lot of people who have DACA & are EWI that have used adv. parole & come back with no problems. & A couple of people who are trying to adjust status after using AP as well. In the search engine of this website, type in advance parole to read about other people's experiences. After hours of reading & research I decided AP is worth the risk. check out this website as well, there's people who share their AP experience.

We found out about 2 1/2 weeks later. After the interview, the immigration officer did inform us that my petition had been accepted and that within 30 days we'd know if it would be approved. Then about 2 1/2 weeks later she received her approval letter and her GC in the mail.

I honestly haven't heard of anyone being denied entrance with AP. Though some do apply for AP for the simple fact of clearing their EWI, your reason for requesting AP is reviewed beforehand. So once you do get approved for AP, it makes sense that they couldn't deny you re-entry.
