That might be the case, I know how frustrating it is waiting almost 12 months after first applying, I don't know you all but I just waited patiently, I didn't contact everyone I could(maybe that's why it took so long too) I sent an e-request almost 7 months after taking my biometrics, I just kept on living my life as normal otherwise I think I would've gone crazy, I say this cuz the first months I kept checking the website every week and hoping to get something on the mail as well since a close friend with a similar background as me(except the arrest) who applied a couple of weeks before me got approved in just 3 months,
Eventually I just felt if it happens it happens, those of us with some criminal background or an arrest which might just be a minor misdemeanor have no one to blame but ourselves, if you think otherwise then that's your thing, Yes we all make mistakes but at the end we pay for them. Is there a thread about this? Just asking, as of 04/03/14(friday) I received my work permit in he mail, first thing next week I'm going to get my ss card and then to get my DL renewed, it just expired on January of this year and it's been driving me crazy. I really wish all of the other applicants get approved soon since it's an awesome feeling, now I can move on to better things, hopefully,

Honestly, I agree with those of us who have 'criminal records' dealing with the consequences of the alleged mistake, but making us wait a whole year? Is it some kind of extra punishment? Are they trying to make me become older (I'll be 30 next year) so that DACA doesn't apply somehow? Background checks do not take that long, or else, the backlog for the USCIS would be even worse than it is right now.

They have us hope, made us dream, and it's taking too long for it to happen, that's all. I've grown stressed and depressed, I haven't been able to sleep lately knowing that next week marks a when from when they received my application. I keep working, going to school, but nothing has changed. You got approved, I haven't. You'll be able to renew your DL, I've been driving with an expired one for FOUR years...I'm disappointed, that's it. I guess I finally figured it out.

Yes and I've also waited over a year since I sent my application, just shy a week of when they received it so I know how it is, I never said it was easy, you and i have similar timeliness so believe me, I know what you're going through, only difference I just got approved week and a half ago, not knowing and waiting sucks big time, btw I'm 31 years old so I don't think turning 30 is gonna mess things up for you, as far as I know as long as you apply before your 31st birthday you're good, yes driving without a license sucks, I got lucky and was able to renewed before they stopped issuing liscenses to illegals. Btw what was your criminal offense if you don't mind me asking? Either way it really sucks they make some of us wait longer than others, the way I saw it was we've been here since we were younger than 16, waiting a little longer is really gonna make it worst? I know not knowing is killing you but just keep a positive attitude, I really hope you get approved soon and everyone else as well.

Just to make sure, I'm not mad at you or anything, I'm just frustrated and disappointed. My criminal offense is irrelevant, I exercised my sixth amendment right and was found 'not guilty'. Again, there are people who didn't answer that question 'yes' (because of its ambiguous writing) and didn't get any problems (which makes you think how unreliable background checks are, or just the whole system).

Look at AlexanderMQ, he's still waiting after what, 18 months? How can anyone with a bit of decency at USCIS excuse that? It's funny how people with 'families, kids' get approved faster and some people like him that have a different sexual preference, don't. Just saying.

Do you have a criminal record? That's the reason why many of us have had to wait over the six-month period the USCIS states this form takes to be processed.

Yes well i have juvenile record like tickets for skiping school or small trouble from hanging around the bad crown but i never got convicted i stayed in juvy for like 4 hours til my parents picked me up and everything got dismised then i finished school doing packets and took the final test at the school but my lawyer told me since i dint take the test online my diploma shouldnt be a problem. The only adult record i have is two no driver license tickets i whent and got a copy of my record and sent it to them its clean it dont show anything that could look bad i dont think ive done anything for them to treat me this way. Also ive read many cases where they have no bad record and they finished regular high school the only thing that is always the same is that theyr boys who have no kids yet and that theyr case is being proccesed at the nebraska center.
