I just wanted to share a piece of information that might be useful to those waiting over a year for their DACA approval. After 16 months of a long wait my DACA was finally approved. I would call my lawyer every month to see what could be done . I was always told all I could do is wait and wait. However this month i was so upset and frustrated I demanded my lawyer to go one step further. He decided to personally go to our local immigration office and requested for my case file to be tracked down and pulled out. I don't know if it's coincidence but a week later my case was looked at and approved!!.. have any of you waiting past one year tried doing this??if not you should consider asking your lawyers to physically go and ask at your local immigration office.

Trust me I feel your pain. Being approved doesn't change my feelings about the whole process, and i still have ro wait to get my social, get a job, and be able to dive. It's a never ending game. I believe you don't need an appointment my lawyer just sent one of his attorneys and assistant the same day i called him. I felt like my lawyer didn't care either but when he heard how frustrated I was he decided to do more than just wait. Talk to your lawyer n tell him to do the same thing n go to your local immigration office.

I'm sorry but a lawyer that charges you extra (nonetheless $1,000) to do something as little as going to the immigration office, is not a good lawyer in my opinion.

Today I decided to call USCIS and ask about my case. I didn't want to call cause the last two times I called they weren't helpful at all, and sometimes even rude. Well today I called and got to talk to this really nice lady who was really helpful. She transferred me to an officer who would be able to assist me with my case. This officer was really nice as well and was very helpful. I know some people on here said that they were put on hold for hours or longer and that the other officer never really helped them.

I was put on hold for 45 minutesI didn't want to wait that long but I managed to sit there for that long. The lady told me that she did not know why the people looking over my case hadn't made a decision already. She was even laughing but in a good way saying that she really had no idea why they were just sitting on my case and not doing anything about it. At the end she said I should hear from them by the end of this month and if I didn't to call backi know this might just be another boost of false hopes but it's been over 1 year & 8 months since I've had someone actually tell me something positive, and this lady actually agreed with me that they shouldn't be taking this long to make a decision.

I just thought I share this with my DREAMERS. I really hope this lady keeps her word and helps me get my case approved or finally looked at.

I've been waiting 1 yr and 8 months almost 9 months and I still don't have an answer. The last time I contacted my congresswoman she said my file is pending background clearance. I entered the US legally and have NO criminal record whatsoever. I don't get it. I've submitted e-request and sent dozens of emails
