I graduated with a BA in civil engineering back in Dec. 2010. I didn't continue going to school after that. It's been a while so I didn't even try looking for an engineering job, though I probably should've. My reasoning was: heck, it's been two years since I graduated and I'm not fresh out of school, and I've got no experience so nobody is going to hire me. But I enjoyed preparing my own DACA application so much, that I actually got a job at a small law firm doing exactly that: DACA. So I'm infinitely happy and now looking into getting into law school. Sometimes things just work out

Guys I graduated with BSEE back in May 11 and I found a job in engineering. I had no experience whatsoever, GPA a bit over 3, and a 2 year gap since graduation. It wasn't easy finding a job but is not impossible. My advice is keeping applying, go to career fairs, touch base with classmates or anybody you know in the industry and you will find something. I had 5 offers, 2 I had to turn down b/c you had to be a citizen, and I picked the one I liked the most out of the remaining 3. Luck guys!

Most tech companies are located in the west side so I suggest you people with BSEE and computer science degrees to look for jobs. Intel works close with a community college here (PCC) and most universities have dual enrollment with it so transferring out is easy as the programs they make designed around what the university you want is asking.

I'm a Chemical Engineer graduated in May 2010. I got approved a month ago May 2014. I'm actively looking for jobs for the past years. I still haven't been able to find a job yet. Can anyone give me any advice or suggestions?

I was on the same boat except I kept with Civil Engineering.
My story:
I had no money for college, so I worked at an insurance agency as CSR and tutored students. Graduated in 4 years, got my EIT, and continued to work 2 more years in insurance field. Received DACA, immediately quit my job for 2 non-paid internship at City and Caltrans. Did that for 6 months, and I landed my current job as an engineer in a mega firm.

It's possible. Just keep searching. Meanwhile do internship/volunteer work related to your field. I had 2 years limbo, but I overcame it.

Also join professional membership such as ASCE (of course you would join ASME). You can network and get special job posting.

I got my masters in chemical engineering. Took me 6 long depressing months to get a job. I kept applying everyday to every job I fit. Even if I didn't meet the 3 or 5 yr experience they ask for. Got 2 back to back offers. One with international company Bridgestone and another small company. Silly me. I was honest and told Bridgestone I'm waiting to hear from another company and they took their offerback. ; (. So Iit's been just a year now and I'm not using my degree at all lol or my masters work. But it's a job and I get to manage 12 to 15 people everyday. Plus they made me in charge of another sept where I've to watch over 4 people. So that looks very good in my resume. Especially if I'm only 26 . Btw. This job asked for 5 yes experience in manufacturing field whereI had 0. So keep ttrying guys. It's harder now as we got so many graduates but your time will surely come.

I graduated in Dec 2012 (BSME) and got approved in late Jan 2012. I interviewed in Dec/Jan 2013 for my current job and got hired in early February. I was shitting bricks waiting for my permit/SSN to come in. I think everything happened in the span of a few weeks.

Anyway, so I'm still employed, but am looking for another job already.

Graduated this past May 2014 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineer from UConn. I will start working this July at GE.

May I ask why are you going for your PE license? I am debating if I should do it.

Not an specific reason really, I figured I would take it while I waited for DACA, and having that degree might help advance my career.

After I was granted Daca I found this job in a machine shop, kinda needed the money so I took it. Three months after that I found this paid intership, 7 months after that, I finally got the full time position.
