I don't think it's exactly correct that we can't legally own guns. I'm living in Oregon where private sales are legal and you can buy a gun from another person with a valid state ID/DL . So basically the gun would be sold to you and it would be registered to you. I don't see why there would be a problem seeing as how many gun laws are determined on the local level.

I've thought about it myself , not a shotgun but a pistol. I know a lot of you guys live in beautiful neighborhoods with white fences and all but some places like SE Portland are not safe lol.

That's what I mean not many places are safe. And with Christmas coming around that's when it's worse. So your saying I can buy a shotgun from a private seller say a friend and it won't be a problem? I've been researching on new Mexico gun laws and there not that strict I'm sure I can buy one no problem. Can anyone confirm me on that?

The a court case ruled out that if you are NOT a USA citizenship you cannot own, even as much to hold a gun.

http://www.atf.gov/publications/down...-p-5300-18.pdf

Because the constitution doesn't give us that right. The 2nd Amendment say, "people" not person. So the court ruled that People is defined as people who are part of a society or belong to a community. Aka Citizens of that said country. However, any other right that says person applies to illegal alines as well. Just not people.

Case in point

As always I would suggest you go down to your local gun store and ask if you can own a gun if you don't have citizen ship but a work permit and a valid SSN. I have read around on this topic and I've seen that it depends on where you live. Don't ever get an illegal firearm though.

I would suggest what the ATF says about this and what that court says about it because that was a huge case. So no it does not matter where you live, unless you think the constitution, a big paper, does not apply to every state as the constitution itself is saying illegal aliens, aka us, cannot legally own a gun. We are not protected by the second amendment

The main issue is that DACA didn't grant us any status and so we are still illegal aliens as far as the courts are concerned when it comes to our rights. Congress has explicitly barred illegal aliens, at a federal level, from possessing or owning firearms.

Depending on the state you are in there might be even harsher regulations on firearms. In California for example it is near impossible for even legal residents to transport, not posses or own, but simply transport firearms.

If anyone decides to get a firearm and get themselves caught so that this can be brought up to the appellate courts (or even the supreme court) and reviewed again - all the more power to you and be sure to keep us informed on what happens.

What's the story on bow and arrows? Can we get one of those fancy compound bows?

Oh yeah of course no illegal guns that's just wanting to get deported and jail time lolz but yeah I went down to walmart to try and buy me a shotgun but I asked the guy like hey you think I can get a gun with my social and he said he's not too sure. Walmart wasn't the best place to get a gun right. Well anyways he made a big deal and said I can try to run my things to see if I get approved but he was like your talking about the FBI here trying to run my stuff so that kinda scared me and decided not to run my stuff though the computer. Can the FBI really do something to you if your just doing a background check to see if you can get a gun?

We're prohibited to carry/possess firearms because of the Gun Control Act of 1968 and the abovementioned court case.

No federal laws regulate bow and arrows to the same extent as firearms, so it depends in which state you live in.

In California it seems that the answer is yes, but you have to pay up for the more expensive hunting licenses as a non-resident. Feel free to look through the CA.gov's legal section just to be sure.
