On my court papers it says felony but it was treated like a misdemeanor. I have done my research and technically my crime is a misdemeanor by the amount of time I served in CA. This crime, I think, doesn't qualify for a significant misdemeanor. Unfortunately a non significant misdemeanors might also disqualify someone from applying for daca. Just hope who ever reviews my application is understanding of my case and hopefully it's someone who doesn't take too long because the waiting is torture.

I understand what you are going through. From my experience. I wouldn't worry to much because I had more then one felony on court papers that were treated as misdemeanors. Also I completed all my probation and terms I'm assuming you did also. Keep us updated on your results. I think this month (aug) you should receive a answer.

Yes I completed my probation and have been doing well after going to juvenile hall. It's been 8 years since I was sentenced and I've even sealed my record. I sent USCIS my case depos and all the proof of my continuos stay in the US. Iam 24 and going to college were I have a 3.919 GPA. Again thanks for these details. I hope more people view these posts and have a guide to obtaining DACA after a juvenile criminal history. I will keep everyone posted with my application process and yes hopefully I get approved this month. Most people who've applied have gotten their approval about 4 months after they applied give or take a couple of days either way. So hopefully before the 8th but if it's after than hopefully this month.

Congratulations on being approved! I am in the process of applying. I've waited so long because my juvenile records were being sealed. However, now that they are sealed, I'm confused about how to proceed. I have a question for you guys, and anyone who sees this that can help. What did you include for the "additional information"? It says you do not need to include records unless "prohibited under state law", which is true in California. However, I've read that not including records can be seen as the applicant being deceitful. Did you include any court or arrest records, or simply a retelling of the situation? Any help is very appreciated. Thank you!

No I didn't attach or disclose that information. Well my attorney said there was no need for that. I watched him full out the whole application. He read the same thing you just wrote and said looks like we don't need to send that info. Also dont believe words from anyone who haven't been through this situation with juvenile records and daca that's just he said she said and personal opinions.

Thank you for your response. I've sent my application without disclosing details and now I've just got to cross my fingers. Here's hoping everything goes through well!

So you did not attach any of your arrest records, court deposition, or offenses?

I sent in a full court deposition, along with proof of dismissal.

Maybe, sending this information is having a negative effect on me.. =[
I'm wondering if this has allowed them to do further security checks on me, because I received an email saying that my application is on hold due to security check.. Sigh.

Do you know if they run a security check regardless?

Just wanted to say that your not required by law to post your case depos. I did because my lawyer recommended it because that would prevent an RFE. Btw everybody I just got approved today at 3:15. Waited six months and my status hadn't changed so after one more day of waiting. I called for a service request and today on the 16 I got approved.

I'm 25 now but I was in trouble until about 18 then started cleaning my life up. I got into a few fights. Went to juvenile hall few times. I was a ward of the court. Also once I didn't pull over during a traffic stop.. And more things but if you want to know I will answer questions. Point is I cleaned my life up and got approved so I feel I deserve this. Also I did get a lawyer. Total cost of everything for me was around $1300 "lawyer and daca fee"... also I grew up in a bad neighborhood with gangs so I was worried I was labeled being in a gang from family and guys I grew up around. I needed this more then anyone knows I lived a hard life and working so hard to get away from negativity. I hope this helped everyone out there.
What was your timeline ?
