My biometrics have been completed for weeks now. Just waiting on a final session, which I anticipate to get around October, shortly before the expiration of my initial DACA.

Has anybody gotten their daca/work permit approved?? Just wondering because I sent mine since the first days of June and haven't heard anything back beside getting my biometrics done.

Received a notification yesterday telling me that my name was updated for both the I821D and I765. I did legally changed/removed my maternal last name so it could be that is what was updated.

Both cases are still under "Initial Review." Not sure what the update means, but I'll take it. At least someone had to look at my application to make that change.

So I feel like I've risen from the dead. I am going through the renewal process right. If anyone remembers I went through additional hoops because they gave me a work permit that lasted one year instead of two. I also waited 4+ weeks for my social security so the process was a trial in patience. This is my process for the renewal thus far:

6/12/2014: USCIS received and accepted my packet
6/19/2014: Biometrics Appointment notice for 7/10/2014
7/2/2014: Walk-in
Currently pending decision.

My work permit expires 9/16/2014 so I'm going to wait two more weeks before calling USCIS to see if they can give me a temporary extension. I have an awesome job in the field I studied for so I can't afford to lose it because of bureaucracy.
GL to everyone!

My EAD expires on 9/18/14. I did my Bio walk in 7/16/14 and my case is still on the "Initial review" circle. I hope they start giving renewals soon.

Make sure you ask to speak to a supervisor when you call USCIS. The customer service reps don't know anything.
