What school do you go to? Did you file before the March 2nd deadline? Well, that is some BS.

Cal State San Bernardino. I filed way before the March deadline. It is indeed some BS. Lol. Basically, on my web4grants account it said I was granted a Cal Grant B. After not seeing it show up on my financial aid info for my school I called to see what was up. The lady said, I would not receive the grant because the school ran out of funding for the dream grant, unless they received some additional funding. Sucks right? Lol. Oh well

Do you know why you were not awarded any cal grants? Was it because your EFC was to high? I was informed I would not receive university grants because my EFC was 1500.

What the difference between cal grants and university grants? The prior school year 2013-2014 I only paid school fees; tuition was paid by a grant yet, on the spring 2014 I was asked to add an account for direct deposit.

Therefore, am not sure if the tuition was paid by a university grant and does the university wire the funds to an account?

Cal grants are issued by the state. University grants are given by the school. I think it is money the university has go give to the students. If you have an EFC of 0, you get the state university grants, which covers all tuition fees.

I'm in the same boat. I was awarded a cal grant b. My school CSUF sent a message that my payment due date was extended until financial aide came through. Its the first week of school and I haven't gotten any notification of payment or financial aide given to me.. I guess I'm screwed. It shows I have a balance due

I was supposed to transfer, but my name did not match the name on the GPA sent by my community college (my name is too long and did not fit on the CA Dream Act online app). Even though I called several times in May/June, they did not inform me of this until late July. I had to resend some paperwork and scan my id/ss for them. So, long story short, I was not able to transfer. I am really sad about it, but I am also worried about not being able to transfer again next year. I cannot afford to pay the full tuition, so I hope I am able to get some scholarships so I don't have to rely on the Cal Grants. Good luck to you all! I will be applying to CSUF, too, so I hope they get that issue fixed. Let us know what happens, jahmdream! Btw, how do you like it there?

I was not awarded the Cal Grant because of my age (2 that's the cutoff age. The State University Grant covered about 85% of my tuition for this year and scholarships took care of the rest.
