I already applied for renewal and waiting for the decision but I received a letter from DMV that my driver's license will expire so I have to send them a photocopy for legal presence documnet and passport.

Since I'm still waiting for the decision, I will be waiting for my new work permit so I could send them a copy. So I am guessing that we don't have to actually go to DMV to renew the license.

It seems like I am the only one who receive this letter from DMV.

Anyone received this letter?

I dont trust mailing important documents via mail. I will go in person to the DMV, and yes I received that letter too.

You may not like mailing important documents but others mail you important documents. What's the difference?

let us know how that goes, as far as i know the department that's asking to mail in our documents is different than normal dmv operations.

Question to those living in NY.

My driver's license expires in like 2016 or 2018 or something but obviously has the "temp. visitor" and the DACA expiration date. Do I have to go to the DMV to show the new work authorization card (when I get it renewed and get the card) or can I just send a copy online?

Geek, I lost the envelope that came with the CA DMV renewal notice. Can you photocopy the return envelope or send me the address that we need to send the documents to?

Apparently, I will have to take a vision exam if i try to renew in person. Therefore, I will mail my renewal form. But first I need to know where to send the documents.
