Hi, guys. Today is a very depressing day for me.
I sent my DACA renewal forms on mid- July and forgot about it.
1 month later, I found this forum and was reading the posts you guys wrote and found out that you were supposed to include a copy of EAD card(front and back) with your renewal forms?

I DID NOT KNOW THAT. It's my fault for not thoroughly reading the instructions, yes..
I only sent my I-821D, I-795& I-795WS. (+money)
and part of the I-795 had a question of asking like if it was granted or not(?)
so i wrote "granted" and I attached a copy of my DACA approval mail. but that was it.
I didn't include a copy of my EAD card any sort of photo that has my face on it..

Do you guys think that my documents will be rejected due to this?

**by the way, i DID get a mail that my forms were received and and another mail requesting a biometrics.. so I already did do my biometrics(8/7/14)

help me out please!

Can you please clarify if you submitted any type of copy showing your photo? You did not write your post properly. To me, it seems like you did otherwise they would've rejected it immediately. Looks like you're good to go. Looking at the instructions, to me it does not seem like its necessary to submit the copies of EAD front and back but it is advised that you do so to expedite the process. They'll just easily pull up all your info based on your Alien number and I-797 notice that shows you were granted deferred action.

Read this from the I-765 instructions:

A copy of your last EAD (front and back). If no prior EAD has been issued, you must submit a copy of a government-issued identity document, such as a passport showing your picture, name, and date of birth; a birth certificate with photo ID; a visa issued by a foreign
consulate; or a national ID document with photo and/or fingerprint. The identity document photocopy must clearly show the facial features of the applicant and the biographical information. If you are filing under the
(c)(33) category, additional documentation beyond what
you submit under “3. What Documents Do You Need to Provide to Prove Identity?” of the filing instructions for Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is not required.

Now look at the following from I-821d instructions under "What Documents Do You Need to Provide to Prove Identity?"

Submit copies of any of the following:

Passport;
Birth certificate accompanied by photo identification
Any national identity document from your country of origin bearing your photo and/or fingerprint;
Any U.S. government immigration or other document bearing your name and photograph (e.g., EADs, visas,
driver's licenses, non-driver cards)
Any school-issued form of identification with photo
Military identification document with photo
State-issued photo ID showing date of birth; or
Any other document with photo that you believe is relevant.

NOTE:
Expired documents are acceptable

I guarantee you you submitted at least one of the above because they would have rejected your application immediately if you didn't. I think you're on course so don't worry.

First of all, thanks for replying.
Yes, I now see that any document beyond what I submit under “3. What Documents Do You Need to Provide to Prove Identity?” of the filing instructions for Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is not required.

But let me clarify, I did not submit ANY type of photo whatsoever.

None of the below was submitted:

Passport;
Birth certificate accompanied by photo identification
Any national identity document from your country of origin bearing your photo and/or fingerprint;
Any U.S. government immigration or other document bearing your name and photograph (e.g., EADs, visas,
driver's licenses, non-driver cards)
Any school-issued form of identification with photo
Military identification document with photo
State-issued photo ID showing date of birth; or
Any other document with photo that you believe is relevant.

But like you said, if they had my case number and was able to pull out my info from that, then they would also have my picture appearing on their screen, right? (at least I hope)
since I did biometrics and they took my picture and fingerprints.

I'm guessing they went kind of lenient even though I didn't submit any photo because it was renewal.....

Okay my friend. If you did not file your case correctly, then they will reject your petition and send it back to you saying why it was rejected and what you need to fix it. The only issue with this is that it delays your case as it does not retain the initial filing date (which means to you go to the back of the line). But it seems that your case has past the "Acceptance" stage. Since you already did you biometrics, that means you are in the "initial review" stage. If I were you, I wouldn't worry anymore because you are way past the part were they check whether your packet is missing a copy of your EAD.

BTW, check your status here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

i made the same mistake...forgot to include a copy of my EAD> front & back. Was able to get my biometric appointment and now just waiting for the actual card via Mail. I think as long we don't have a prior criminal history, etc...then it shouldn't be an issue. Fingers crossed

Your fine, if they need additional information or missing documents more than likely they will send you a RFE requesting certain missing documents.

That's because so far it seems they don't require any documents unless your case is complicated. No one has received an RFE yet for docs but it's good to send it.

More than likely this person will get a RFE it clearly states on the renewal instructions to make a copy of the EAD card.

Have you gotten an RFE? Or did you get your card yet? This would really help me since my EAD was stolen and I don't what to do! Do I request a replacement? Or will I get approved without a copy of it??
