Hey guys,

I wanted to share my situation in hope that someone could advice me on what I should do. I'm desperate, and feel hopeless. Sorry if it's long

I sent my Renewal application the first week of July, as my card expires on Oct 13. When I sent it, I accidentally forgot to sign one of the forms so it was sent back. I corrected it and resent it via express the following day, just as they had instructed on the forms they returned. I soon received form I-797 C, notice of action. Basically it stated that the full and complete payment of $465 was received and that the next step was to have my biometrics done.

August came along, and I was still waiting for the biometrics appointment. I began to worry. I called the customer service center and they issued a 30 day service request for an officer to issue the biometrics appointment. 28 days passed, and I received an email (no letter) stating the following:

You or your representative contacted USCIS to notify us that you have not received your biometrics appointment notice. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your case is currently awaiting assignment to an officer. Once it is assigned, the officer will schedule your appointment.

NOTE: The address you provided in this request does not match the address we have in our systems. If you need to update your address please contact customer service at the number provided below.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

I felt safer having my documents mailed my PO BOX, so I updated my address in August through the phone with them and they sent me a form called AR-11, Alien's Change of Address. I sent that the following day. Could this change of address have delayed the whole process?

I called customer support again- this time I spoke with a supervisor. They said all I could do is wait and recommended I make an info pass meeting. I tried doing it online, but I kept getting a message that said "no available info passes." I called again, and they told me to walk in.
On Friday I woke up early and went to two different USCIS offices, all in Miami, FL.
Nobody helped, they said I needed an appointment to see an officer. They don't understand my frustration, my card will soon expire and I don't even have a bio date scheduled.
One of the customer service reps told me that if by October 5th I didn't receive my card, I could request an "Interim EAD." This basically extends the card by 240 days while they work on the case. However, when I mentioned this to the people at the USCIS offices, they said they don't grant those anymore. While at the office, I made an info pass appointment. They earliest available was for September 26. The initial application 2 years ago went so smooth compared to this one.

Please you guys, any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm scared.

Thanks in advance.

That sounds like a terrible mix - up.

I don't have any experience in this but have you tried emailing the service center to which you've sent the forms? I've sent two emails to my service center (NSC) and they replied one time with some good information.

You can also write a letter to your service center (make sure it's certified!) explaining your situation. I've tried this one time but with no avail (But I've heard of successes as well)

Also, I guess this might be out there but you can try to contact your congressman/congresswoman.

And if you want to reach out even further into the "if" section, I guess you can record your phone calls and keep a log of the agent ID #'s in case you need some proof later down the road for representatives providing you with incorrect answers.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response.

I will email them asap concerning my case. Yes, I am keeping a log of all the agents ID #'s. My hope is that during my info pass appointment the officer will be able to expedite my case or authorize some type of temporary relief to not go back to unlawful status.
