The long wait is finally over. I was finally approved for my DACA renewal today. Here is my timeline:

June 9th, 2014: USCIS received my package.
June 20th, 2014: Biometrics Done.
August 14th, 2014: Filed for Ombudsman Services
August 26th, 2014: First Info pass apt. They call Nebraska and said my file was in process and that they were aware of my current EAD expiring soon. Told to wait for process to complete.
Sept 4th, 2014: Filed for an expedite at Info Pass(denied 7 days later b/c of lack of evidence).
Sept 13th, 2014: EAD expired and employer puts me on unpaid Leave of Absence
Sept 15th, 2014: Filed for expedite with evidence(employer letter stating I was put on leave of absence). DENIED b/c there is no expedite process for EAD for DACA applicants.
Sept 16th, 2014: Another InfoPass and was told to wait and that application was still in process. That they could not do anything about my current expired status(no interim EAD, no extension, nothing).
Sept 23rd, 2014: DACA renewal approved.
Sept 24th, 2014: EAD card in production.

As you can see I tried everything I could to not expire and still did. There is NO interim EAD or expedite process for DACA applicants. Ombudsman does help keep you updated but I think the USCIS process is what delays the application. Hope this information helps...

Just be patient. Its great if you get approved a month before you expire but if you don't at least you can see what to expect from my experience.

Wow, thank you for the information and I'm sorry you had to go through that.

This really helps!

I am glad it helps. I just wanted to share what I had to go through so that other people can keep their hopes up don't stress out and go crazy like I did.

Thank you so much for the update. I'm expiring 10-02-14 and I'm fully expecting a gap in my EAD as well. Frustrating that I may have to miss work like you did, but gives me lots of hope!

It's awesome your employer was understanding enough to give you a LOA instead of anything worse. I think we'll all appreciate our legal right to work a little more after this

also, what I'm curious about is that there people that sent their app late, and got approved in just weeks. So the processing time is just all over the place.

Contacting NILC and Ombudsman might be the options we could possibly do right now.

I just gotten renewed yesterday. My time line was I sent my app on Aug. 5 Bio on sept.5 and checked online today and I was approved on sep. 25 so the process is fast for some and slow for others! my original card expires Oct. 19 so phew that was cutting it close...
