Hello there fellow Dreamers, my DACA was renewed back in September which was great. When I went to renew my license the lady taking care of me casually told me that she had approved it for two years until it the EAD expired. Now as everyone else that lives in Florida knows, we usually get the driver license for a year and have to go in to present our EAD every year. So my question is, has any recently renewed DACA receipient had the same thing happen to them? My license now does not expire until two years from now.

No idea but I hope it applies to all the rest of us Florida dreamers. It really is a pain dealing with the DMV and its cheerful employees every year to get it renewed.

I recently got my DACA renewed so I will give you an update when I go get my license renewed. Crossing my fingers!

I work at the DMV, your license is set to expire on the expiration date of the EAD. That's how it has always been. If you only got it renewed for 1 year last time, the clerk didn't know what they were doing. I had it for 2 years in 2012, and now another 2 years until 2016.

Bumping to update. My new license was indeed issued for 2 years this time which is a welcome relief. This time they just asked me for my social security card and and my employment card. The whole process was fast so I was glad for that.

Yep, they changed it then. The first time I went to renew after 1 year of DACA I asked the lady about it and she said they were going to change it. Guess they did. GREAT!
