How to get ahold of USCIS customer service? Other issues...

I'm expiring really soon and my app is still on Initial Review.

The USCIS site lists this as the number:

National Customer Service Center
1-800-375-5283

However, they don't list anything about when they're open. What have you guys found are the best times to call? Those of you who were in a similar boat, what specific questions did you pose to whoever you talked to?

I'm getting worried because of what happened with my biometrics. So basically, I completed on on August 4. But then I got another letter with another one scheduled for Sept 4. When I went to the ASC on Sept 4, though, the people there told me I didn't have to redo the biometrics because the letter was sent in error.

Well, I have less than a month to go before I expire and there still hasn't been any progress made on my case. It's still on Initial Review. I live in a cheapass apartment by myself, but I can' tpay for it if I can't work, you know what i mean?

It said somewhere Monday to Friday 9am to 5Pm. Best times is during regular business hours

Am also in the initial review had my biometrics done on September 22nd
