Got a response from ombudsman that uscis says case is under review with an officer and i should contact them after 15 days if no action is taken by uscis...hmmmm

well, that's good though. At least you know it's being looked at.

I received my EAD on Saturday October 4th, after being approved on September 24th, 2014.

I'm new on here.. hoping you guys can help me.

I send in my renewal on June 27th. Received on July 2nd. Biometrics completed on July 25th as scheduled. On Oct 2nd my status was changed to "Request for Initial Evidence" I received the letter yesterday and apparently the lawyer has forgot to answer two questions on the application. My EAD expires on 10/29 and even if I send out the RFE today I most likely won't be approved on time before the current one expires. I been calling my lawyer to schedule an appointment so that I can go and get the RFE taken care of but he's not free until Saturday. Do you guys think I should fill out the questions not answered and send back the RFE or should I wait for the lawyer and go through him? Also, can anyone suggest good lawyers in Chicago area? I hate the lawyer I'm working with. He had his son work on my application and he made so many mistakes. Its also my fault for not making sure everything is correct before they sent out my renewal.. Sorry for the long post but any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I request assistance from ombudsman? I'm cutting dangerously close to my expiration.

Also, those of us who are waiting in hell, I'm just curious as to what your service center is. Mine is Texas. Apparently they're backed up as hell.

I got approved yesterday! Just in the nick of time because I was set to expire today. My congressman's office called a congressional liaison at USCIS and got my case adjudicated immediately. If you need more info about it, I made a new thread.
