I work for a small tax resolution firm. So my boss knows me quite well. When I explained my situation, he said that I would not be fired, instead I would be switched to an Unpaid Internship status if I am not renewed on time. When I get renewed, he told me I would receive a huge "sign in bonus" in the form of what my wages would have been at that time.

I was pretty lucky in that regard.

Oh gosh.. My EAD expires on 11/7. USCIS received my form on 8/28(i know im late)

Received my bio letter about a week ago which was scheduled on 10/23. I walked in for a bio on 10/7

Now, Im just waiting. I have 3 weeks until I get expired. I worked at this place for 2 years. My boss paid me under the table before DACA. So i dont think it should be a problem. So lets see how it goes lol. Hopefully I get approved this following week. LORD PLEASE! if not, 2 weeks from now I am gonna end up panicking.

Just keep in mind that in certain states bonuses are taxed differently. I am in the 25-30% tax bracket, however my signing bonus was taxed at 46%. But I guess anything is better than nothing.

I was on my congressman's page is really strict on the immigration problem. That said I feel like contacting him to help me would not help as he probably doesn't support Daca. I'm just going to do infopass and other avenues before asking for his help.

Most of the time..the congressman himself isnt involved in the process but his staff handles it. Also...the Ombudsman is very helpful but you have to follow up with them..as in call!!!
