i checked out the kids page on facebook it had 800+ members, i was thinking the kid could help us push dream act out there a whole lot. Let's say all those members call everyday to urge the passage of dream asap that would help wouldn't it. One thing i was thinking about was a huge march lol i dont really support marches but what if all the marchers were white??? then people can't say oh all those marching are illegal anyways they are not real americans blah blah blah what do you guys think?

Diaz-Balart Intercedes on behalf of Colombian Family Facing Deportation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today interceded
on behalf of Mr. Julio Gomez, his wife Liliana Gomez, and their children Juan
and Alejandro Gomez, Colombian citizens currently detained and facing
deportation. Diaz-Balart requested a stay of their deportation and reiterated
his call for the new Congressional Leadership to allow the DREAM Act, of which
Diaz-Balart is prime cosponsor, to be promptly considered on the floor of the
U.S. House. Below please find the text of a letter sent today by Congressman
Diaz-Balart to Ms. Judy Rogers, Acting Director, Office of Congressional
Relations of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement:

“Dear Ms. Rogers:

I am writing on behalf of Mr. Julio Gomez, his wife Liliana
Gomez, and their children, Juan Gomez and Alejandro Gomez, all Colombian
nationals currently detained under the custody of Immigration and Customs
Enforcement (ICE). Mr. Julio Gomez is detained at Krome Detention Center in
Miami and his family at the Broward Transitional Center. Attached is an article
concerning their case that appeared in today’s The Miami Herald.

The Gomez family’s youngest son, Juan Gomez, is an honors student at Miami
Killian Senior High School with an impressive academic record. The Gomez family
has been in the United States since 1990. They have applied for asylum and
their case was subsequently denied. If deported, it would cause extreme
hardship on the children since they have been raised in the United States from
the age of two and three respectively.

In Congress, I have filed H.R. 1275, the American Dream Act, precisely to
offer immigration relief to children like Juan and his brother, Alejandro. I
would respectfully request that ICE stay the deportation of the Gomez family
until Congress has an opportunity to consider the American Dream Act.

Your attention to this urgent matter is greatly appreciated. If
you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly, or my
aide, Mercedes Alvarez, at (305) 470-8555 or via e-mail at mercedes.alvarez@mail.house.gov.
I look forward to hearing from you promptly.

Thank you for your consideration.

Cordially,

Lincoln Diaz-Bala

last post and im going to bed for those who dont have facebook you can just sign up it open to everyone now but here is what i found on their message board

Friday, July 27th:

Today we had a conference call with Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen. She gave us her full support of Juan Gomez and the DREAM Act. It aired on CBS and ABC at 6. We were also on Telemundo live. Ros-Lehtinen invited us to meet with her in Washington D.C. in the future to lobby the bill. This is great.

Practically all stations will be broadcasting at 11, including ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Telemundo, and Univision.

the great thing is they are not pushing for a pvt bill, they are pushing for the passage of dream act. It is soo engouraging to read their page on facebook. We are not the only ones pushing for dream.
