Hi - I've noticed one or two others here because of a Significant Other..
I'm here because of my husband.. anyone else?
It would be nice to talk to someone else who understands (especially a female) what it means for us and all the responsibilities we must take on when our S.O can not ..

i am married to an illegal and sadly he is more legal than i am, lol! i hate not being able to drive or work but i was lucky to have married such an optimist and driven guy. after HS (he graduated w/ honors and would have had a full ride to UMASS...) he started waterproofing and his boss knowing his status stole from him every week. he walked 2 miles to and from work 5 days a week (i was oblivious because he never complained) when we got married, i remember my mother warning me, "he has no papers what if you get sick at night, who's gonna take you to the hospital? i thought, hey we'll ride his bicycle (i was so in luvvvv, lol) well since then (5 years ago) we went from sleeping on a living room floor, to sharing an apt (don't ever try this!) to having our own place and 2 kids. he went from being a used labor, to a foreman to now a salesman and soon he will be at the very "top". we are lucky because we don't fit the illegal profile and i was able to pass as a citizen and get into a local community college. the main reason why i want to be legalized is that i want to drive so bad (just me, in my car, on the highway, music blasting, windows open and if a cop passes me, i'll smile ) and i am so tired of living in fear of being sent back, having my kids taken away... but the main reason is that i need to see my nana one last time, because she is very old now. but today, i woke up happy and hopeful (i had another dream in which i was driving again ) so, i know how you feel being w/ an alien and all. but just thing how "weird" it would be if you were an alien too, lol! i know what u mean about the driving comment..... i was able to get a permit with my Tax identification number, but before i knew it the rules had changed and i couldn't get my license because i didn't have a SS#, so now i can't drive...it's so wired that most of the little things that ppl with papers take for granted are the things that we want to do...things like being able to work, go to school and drive...sometimes i just feel like giving up and going back home
