The whole point of this new DACA is to not break families apart. And forget about the immigration reform. What makes you think it's going to get approved now? I highly doubt those Republicans will want to give anything out. The immigration reform passed through the senate and the house of reps have not approved it ever since. It's been more than a year, yeah okay, immigration reform.

If Obamas EO gets through with out incident, it will have taken care of 90% of the process a reform would have required. DACA and DAPA have cut out the work for them, don't forget Obamas EO hence just about expanding daca toughening the borders and deporting those who came here in the last 5 years and a treat to the nation. It's a huge chance to take to wait for the republicans to do something. They might not but if they do? Then what?.

How will they though? Obama went against them now and it is unlikely an immigration will ever pass now.

A program in a cable channel titled "One America News",has been circulating in television and is lobbying against Amnesty. They showed the flawed Border fence, cartels in texas, people killed and american residents/citizens threatened in their own property. Pretty convincing and true story though.

Precisely! Perhaps they will finally realize that giving Obama and the democrats a win here might be bad for them long term?

Most of the immigrants (legal or not) that I have met are basically republicans. Except for that whole immigration issue.

At some point they (republicans) might realize that these people are raising US citizen children who will be voting sooner or later. And these kids are told all their lives that republicans are evil and trying to deport their parents. And so the democrats are winning future voters.

Of course it's not that big of an issue now. And the future of the party is clearly not something most people in congress care about. After all why should they care what happens in the future? They might be dead by then. But they aren't stupid. They know and understand this (political) situation even better than we do. They are playing their part. It has to become critical for them before they commit to real action. Who knows what that means though. Maybe another failed presidential election? Loss of congress majority? Both?

Or maybe they could just pass some type of immigration reform now. Tell their base that they are doing this to stop "Emperor Obama". Play them into thinking their going to beat "Obama's Amnesty" with tough laws but then also pass their own little amnesty thus winning the immigrant vote? Play both sides? It's do-able... maybe?
