Dude you should immediately go to http://www.gedtestingservice.com/ged-testing-service register for the GED test as soon as possible. And provide the information on the charge and the years they are asking.

hmmmm...did you not use a lawyer? I got a RFE after 2 years of waiting for my old first case because they didnt accept my home school diploma and they said I needed a GED, so I went and took my GED test and I passed! but when i sent the RFE back with the GED diploma they still denied me because they said "at the time of filing" I didn't have a GED so they denied me even though I had sent my GED. So i reapplied with my GED and had to send every evidence i sent with the first case and after 3 months and 16 days I was approved. Be prepared for a denial........I know of 2 friends who had home schooling and got denied as well but they reapplied with there GED and all 2 friends got approved. Go and get your GED and start saving up $465 and get all the evidence that you submitted with the current case you have and prepare to reapply.

you have to find a way to take the ged as soon as you can before your current time to respond is over.

If you have a criminal record it usually takes longer than 6 months to get a decision.
Alexander, Im a first time DACA applicant and have a criminal background. From lurking on this forum and reaading on the time frame for first time DACA applicants, the poeple that have been waiting for over a year in my opinion none have had a criminal record from what ive read. That leaves me to believe that the belief has no concrete evidence in its favor. Not to say i can be 100% inacurate. regardless of the fact also i have yet to see someone say their case took sooo long because of the reason of having a criminal record. I Hired an attorney for the reason that i was unsure of what would show up on my record and so we took precaution prior to sending off my application and did an FBI Background check in which 2 misdemeanors showed up one for disturbing the peace and the other for failure to appear in court. Also i have an extensive juvenile record in which i sealed when i turned 18. None of that showed up in the FBI report taking in to consideration whenever they locked me up in juvenile hall i would always get my fingerprints scanned. so with 2 misdemeanors on my record we went for it and sent off the application with a cover letter and the court disposition for those 2 charges. Im not sooo much concerned for my criminal record like i am getting an RFE for having an online high school diploma from an accredited online high school in which if i did receive an RFE for that we already had planned to show evidence of being enrolled in a GED program and send that off. I did provide school records from Kindergarden til the end of my senior year in which i didnt graduate and had to take the online GED course. What is your opion in this all? Here's my timeline.

9-29: Received application
10-27: Biometrics

If you have a criminal record or deportation record or past immigration violations you are 100% gonna have a delay in your case (meaning your gonna wait more than the 6 month processing time) they run background checks threw different programs and agency's they don't just use FBI background checks they do LOTS of different checks on your background which would cause a delay in your case since you have a criminal record also if you get Red Flagged, I know of A lot of people who had a criminal background and they waited almost up to 1 year for a decision, Now the other thing that worries me in your case is that "at the time of filing" you sent in a online diploma (which USCIS doesn't accept), I hate to be the bare of bad news but prepare yourself for a denial.... even if you sent in a GED or Enrolled In GED classes with your RFE it isn't enough to satisfy the RFE under education requirement because "AT THE TIME OF FILING" you didn't have a GED or were enrolled in GED classes you did that after filing your case. Trust me I would know because I was denied the first time for DACA and i had a lawyer ( I don't have a criminal record) i waited "2 YEARS" just for them to deny me because I sent in a Home School Diploma they sent me a RFE telling me they didn't accept my diploma or any other online diploma's and that I needed to send in a High School Diploma or GED Diploma so i took my GED test and Passed it and got my GED diploma and sent that in with my RFE and then about 3 weeks passed and i got a letter in the mail telling me i was denied because "AT THE TIME OF FILING" i didn't have a GED or was Enrolled in GED classes. Prepare to get denied and to file a new DACA case again and get all the same evidence you had first sent with your current case and fill out the same forms, make sure you file this time with your GED not your online diploma or you'll get denied again, I applied again for DACA (my timeline is below) and I was approved last month! this time it only took 3 months and 16 days.

Hey guys, a friend suggested I "lawyer up" to apply for DACA. Since I have no money to pay lawyer fees which are too expensive, for those who did get a lawyer, was the wait time much less as oppose to those who did it themselves? The belief is with a lawyer backing your case or an immigration organization you're more likely to get approved easier and quicker and not wait 6-9 months.

Also I live in Maryland, I thought the lock box I would send my documents to is in Chicago but then I read a website that said Dallas. Which is it?
