Well the house just voted to freeze DACA today. Hopefully this doesn't open doors to stop DACA in general.
freezing it is as good as killing it completely.

I would much rather know that it is "frozen" rather than have it be completely removed... But there still that 50/50 chance for anything to really happen.

Republican-controlled congress + Republican president = absolute nightmare for immigration.

Imagine if they fking took our work permits away while so many of us get caught up in our careers. BAM. Back to square one...

Nothing will happened unless the president signs this into law which won't happen with Obama

now as Rev here has said, if a president does it then yeah we are back to square one and they could further and do deport us

Over the next two years, the biggest threat is from Republican-appointed judges. The numbers are not their for enforcement only bills, like they weren't for legal status. It will be a divided government. Nothing is getting done!

That's what I'm saying. There is less than 2 years now till the next election. There is plenty of time to get the message out to citizen friends and families about how important it is to vote for non-Republicans. There is no reason why a state the size of Texas with so many Hispanics is so heavily Republican. Enough of being apathetic during elections.

The Republicans have to lose by another landslide come 2016, if they don't they will just adopt the mantra that eventually they will slowly trickle back into power each election cycle.

Some repubes are strategizing to brute force their way back into power, even going so far as to say that Romney should run again as he will be able to bring in a billion dollars in campaign money and be able to overpower the Democratic Candidate financially leading to a Republican victory. And the possible main gimmick of Romney's run would be "See we told you so, you shouldn't have voted Obama, you should've voted Romney"...seriously...wtf...

It's now or never. If immigrants want to stand up for themselves and show their power in numbers, this next election is the time to do it. Otherwise, nothing will get done and immigrants will go back to hating other immigrants once they get theirs and there will always be a second class of people without papers.

Remember that Oregon, one of the supposedly immigration friendly state controlled by the democrats, its citizen voted no to grant licenses to illegal aliens, at this point, its better to not expect anything from anyone and I guess hope for the best
