Thanks to this forum I stayed far away from Wells Fargo. However, Discover denied me not once but twice. Like a fool after being denied the first time, I received a invitation letter in the mail, so I figured they say the light about me, and was denied again (2 damn hard inquiries). Began building my credit with a secure Citi credit card, then Capital One sent me two pre approved letters, now I have 2 cards with them. I also have a amex, but I didn't know the difference between credit and charge cards, so it does nothing for my score.

Yeah, those mail in offers are a bitch. An invitation to apply =/= a preapproved offer unless they specificy it is, lol. Ironically enough I received an offer to apply for a Wells Fargo College Card today. I threw it away.

And with Amex ChargeCards you can still build credit.

Try Amex or Chase CC, they don't bring up anything about PR. I was approved very fast, I did it online and my cards arrived in the mail in about a week. Good luck!

I believe the founder of Amex are also the founder of WF, but I'll try them anyway. Capital one seems like a better option.

Bank of America cc worked even before I got daca when I was in college. It was pretty easy to apply at the same spot I opened BofA checking account in person.

I would suggest that you apply to Capital one and Bank of America. I was approved by both when i did not have a SS# and now that i have one they wont stop sending me offers for new ones.

I have not been able to get approved by Chase for anything (I've been wanting United Airlines CC).

Looked online, applied for Capital One Journey. Approved Instantly. A year I decided to shop around for a better card since the Journey is a basic cashback program. Applied for AmexEveryday and was approved in a few days.

A buddy of mine was offered a BoA CC, was approved without a hitch.

I know a lot of folks, students especially find it easy to get approved for Discover, but I was denied by them when I applied for their student card.
I have been a customer of WF for over ten years, and even after updating my account with my SSN, I have not been able to get anything online.

However, before being approved for DACA, I was able to get CITI, Discover, AMEX, and Amazon's card without a problem, but no Chase.
