Hello Folks!

So, I've started to buy a house by myself. The process has been smooth so far, but as always, the immigration status sometimes gives us bits of problems. I am very near buying a house with no cosigner due to the "3 year" extension. I will post my experience here in the hopes that many of you follow this process.

This forum has helped me a lot, so I'd like to contribute. I've researched many threads on here about getting a mortgage, however most of them include cosigner or negative experiences. The point of this post is to help future homeowners get a grasp of the process.

2012-2014
1. Graduated May 2012 with a Bachelors.
2. Got a Discover credit card to raise my FICO score.
3. I got a car loan from a local credit union
4. At the end of 2014, my score was at around 730.

2015 -
1. Started process to buy a house. 01/05/2015
2. Got "pre-qualified" from credit union.
3. Found a nice home with realtor. 01/10/2015
4. Placed bid 01/15/2015
5. Realtor reccomended mortgage company. Turned in docs: immigration, income, etc.. 01/20/2015
6. Setting up inspection, turning utilities on. 02/01/2015
7. Property tax forms to be filled. 02/03/2015

Hopefully this has a happy ending!
