Hello everyone,

I have been reading a lot of the threads and the advanced parole seems like the most recent popular topic. So I have decided to create a thread and ask as well.

I am applying for AP to visit my grandfather who had a stroke back in November. I have all my paperwork ready to send including his paperwork from the hospital saying he had a stroke. I am planning to visit this coming May until June (for 3 weeks). This is a period right after Spring semester ends and Summer Sessions begin. I was wondering if that is way too long of a time to request such visit. I know that the reasons are not for vacation purposes but I have not been back in 10 years and I was thinking that this is a good amount of time to spend with my family who I have not seen in a very long time.

Also, I am a little scared about re-entering. From what I have read here, there really aren't any problems when it comes to re-entering. Just a little hold up here and there to verify paperwork.

I guess I am just a little nervous with this situation and wanted to express my apprehension and ask if the amount of time I requested is reasonable and won't be cause for rejection of my application.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

3 weeks is nothing compared the months some users here have claimed to have stayed. Let them know how long you need it for and they'll approve your ap for that time or not.
As of now, there haven been no issues entering back and only dumb people have actually left the country with out AP. Obvious being denied entry.

Hope your grandfather is well
