I also posted this on the Nebraska thread, since that is where my case was routed to, but I thought I would post this on this thread too, since my EAD expires in March:

I called the USCIS number and explained to them that I've been trying to reach a Level 2 rep for a while now (3 days, to be exact), because they often close their offices early in order to catch up on the volume of the calls they have to make. The representative was very understanding, asked me basic questions about the case (to add notes for the next rep and to make sure that she couldn't help me herself) and quickly transferred me over to the automated system that places you in the queue.

I received a call back about 2 hours later from a VERY nice representative, who only asked me to verify my DOB, address, and receipt number. She already had the information from the representative I spoke to.

I told her that I wanted to start the process for an interim EAD, because my current DACA period and EAD expire on 3/31/2015 and I am in danger of losing my job because of it. I also asked her to check for my fingerprints to make sure that everything went through, along with my background check.

She told me that all she could see was that my fingerprints WERE collected in January and if they needed me to do them again, I should've heard about it by now. However, she also noticed that my background check hadn't even been initiated. There's a field in their system that tells them whether a background check is pending or completed, and it was just blank - which was odd to her. According to the rep, these usually take 30 days to process through the FBI.

She proceeded to put me on hold for about 5 minutes, and came back to me with a WKD number for an inquiry she sent to the Nebraska SC, since the interim EADs are also issued by your assigned processing office. She told me that she went ahead with the inquiry because she was almost 100% sure that I would not be approved in time and was "hoping for the best" for me.

My main point is this: regular reps will just repeat the information that is already on the website (on of them even read it to me verbatim), but they don't really have any specific information about our cases. I had to argue with one of the regular reps because she told me that an interim EAD wouldn't even be CONSIDERED, until my DACA application is approved, which the level 2 representative said was not correct.

I'll keep you all updated on what happens with that inquiry.

hmmm, I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat as you. When I check my status on the USCIS website it makes no mention of my finger prints and says that they received my application on october 21 and to proceeds with the next step.

Did the biometrics back in November.

EDIT: Called again to make sure they received my fingerprints. They told me their system (to check status of application) does not mention anything about finger prints even if they already received them. They're working on September cases. I should hear from then within the next 3o days, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yet I know people that mailed their application at the end of September that got approved in December.

Thanks to this I'm losing my job that I've had for almost 8 years that forgave me for lying about my status to begin with. As much as DACA has been a blessing, it's not a permananet solution and I can't imagine having to switch jobs every 1 year and a half thanks to the Nebraska Service Center.

Like all of you I am stressed out about being renewed on time March 15th. Then stressed out about where we will all end up when Obama leaves office.

Unless you speak with a 2nd level rep, the first person you talk to has the same exact information that we do.

I have spoken with a level 2 rep before. Person told me that I'm not eligible for interim until they approve. He did say most employers keep this handbook.

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/f...form/m-274.pdf

It states some eligible applicants available for an extension.

Read over it, I believe that doesn't include us.
